Oh, the beauty I will miss.

This is a picture of a group of orange leaves

Photos Taken by Me 10/28/14

Photos by me; Magic tree before November
These are some of the pictures that I told you guys, I was going to put up but, never did because technology is weird sometimes. As you can see it still has some issues because my captions and pictures aren't going to the places I wanted them to, so bear with me.

Pretty upset I had to move right when my tree had started it's big change for the season. This was what I've been waiting for, the transformation from green leaves to the beautiful fall, autumn leaves. Ugh. They say some people write poems to express their feelings, well can you guess mine?

"Ugh"
Ugh is right,
nothing took flight
when I laid there--
and waited,
Ugh why now,
time took it's time,
and wasted mine.
Ugh a change--
a big one indeed
is about to take place,
but where am I?

gone fishing

Ugh missing out-
autumn trees,
falling leaves,
winter breeze,
Ugh,
there's this rage inside of me,
can't you see?
Ugh nature,
why when I leave?

ugh, ugh, UGH.

This is Goodbye...

Sad to say, this will be the last blog about my Magic Tree. We are moving this whole week to a different house. I was very shocked and surprised to hear this news, but things come up and we just never expect it. Anyways, this will be a goodbye...forever to my magic tree.

I'm honestly really upset that i'll be leaving my tree. Its funny how you create this close bond in nature with a tree over a period of time. Just a few months ago, the tree in front of my house meant nothing to me. I'd walk passed
it each day and not notice a single thing till something significant happened. Such as, the change in the color of leaves over night, the transformation from blossoms to green leaves, from having leaves to none at all. Leaving this house won't be so hard, but leaving my magic tree will be the hardest. I don't know how to explain this feeling right now, it's like leaving a piece of me behind. Ive gotten used to going out of my house everyday and spending at least twenty to thirty minutes out there. Sitting in front of my porch, observing the Peach Tree's flaws and beauty. Looking at every aspect of the tree and admiring it. Taking the small details and finding a bigger meaning to them. Watching the green leaves dance with the small breeze during the evening, the slow change in color from green to yellow creating this elegant ombre color. Along with my favorite, when the sun is setting down, my tree just stands there, looking more peaceful then ever. As if, the sunset is where my magic tree is feeling it's self.  I'm at the point, where I am able to truly say, I love my Magic Tree.

My feelings towards my tree during the project was pretty crazy. There was certainly days where, I couldn't stand my tree, no patience at all, anxiously waiting for a significant change to happen overnight or even when I come home from school. Then, we had those days where, I admire and loved every small detail of my tree, the excitement of seeing a little change happen over night, the small smiles I get in my face  when more yellow leaves pop up.  My mood for my project, was exactly like Reno's weather, bipolar.

Almost two months, and this was definitely an amazing experience. I feel like replacing my magic tree will be tough, kind of like a break up. Considering the fact that, I would have to choose something else to observe till the end of this project. That's hard though, I don't think I can get rid of this bond I created with my tree that easily. Let alone, love another part of nature the way I love my Magic Tree. But, I can try and give it a shot.  Some of the ideas, I have in mind are, the moon, the sunset, my Mother and maybe even the pear tree in front on my new house. Hmm, tough choices!

I Came across a poem just a few seconds ago. I immediately thought about our Nature Project and how it relates to my tree.

Upon a nice mid-spring day,
Let's take a look at Nature's way,
Breathe the scent of nice fresh air,
Feel the breeze within your hair.
The grass will poke between your toes,
Smell the flowers with your nose,
Clouds form shapes within the skies,
And light will glisten from your eyes.
Hear the buzzing of the bees,
Climb the tallest willow trees,
Look across the meadow way,
And you shall see a young deer play.
Pick the daisies as they grow,
Watch a gentle cold stream flow,
Know the sounds of water splash,
Catch its glimmer in a flash.
When altogether all seems sound,
Lay yourself upon the ground,
Take a moment to inhale,
And listen to Nature tell her tale...

The author is writing about her day of experience with Nature. She's very detailed about her writing and descriptions. The author takes every little detail around her and explains it well. Just like our class, we are focusing and observing on the nature piece that we have chosen and taking a closer look at it as each day goes by. We don't just look, but we observe as in going into depth with a specific piece and researching it and finding the answers to our questions if we can. "Take a moment to inhale, And listen to Nature tell her tale" ,  that right there just sounds so beautiful to me, it was a very beautiful line. Read it again, listen to nature tell her tale; Nature has so much more then just plants and flowers, so just take a moment out of your day and experience what nature has to offer.

Tomorrow morning I will be uploading some of the last photos of my Magic Tree. Because, my camera/phone  isn't working with me today and keeps shutting down every time I try and take a picture. Great, right? So hopefully, leaving it off the whole night will change that. So please, stay put and the last pictures of my Magic Tree will be posted up ASAP.

Lets take it back a few

During lunch with my family on Saturday, I was telling them about my Nature Project and how I am observing my Magic Tree and they all knew it was a peach tree but enjoyed the fact that I called it a magic tree.My uncle then recommended that I look up the poem "The Old Peach Tree" By Grace Riffle. He told me to read the whole poem  to see if it related to my magic tree in any way.

The Old Peach Tree

Under the old peach tree
Hearing the buzz of bees
Looking up at pink blossoms so sweet
Watching pink petals fall at my feet
Under the old peach tree almost fallen down
I can hear every sound as the sun goes down
I hear somewhere the song of a mocking bird
The sweetest song I ever heard
As I lean against the old peach tree
I think of things that used to be
This old tree brings me back to my childhood
And the many peaches I ate that were so good
Old peach tree I wish you could talk
Whisper to me some of your thoughts
But instead you fill my heart with your beauty
As I smell the perfume of your blossoms so fruity
I wonder how much longer you'll be here.
How much longer my heart you'll cheer
I hope to lean against you many a spring
And feel the peace that you bring.

-Grace Riffle

I related to this poem in so many ways, this poem by Grace Riffle reminded me of my Peach Tree during the summer time. When I had no idea that it was a peach tree, I actually thought I had a Japanese cherry blossom in front of my yard. Could you blame me though? They looked exactly alike, that or maybe I wasn't paying as close of an attention as I am now. The beauty of this poem just makes me love my tree even more, it was so much more exciting to watch my tree during the summer though. Since the weather was beautiful and the birds would be out along with the bees and different type of insects that would come around. Then the peaches that would grow and noticing each one pop up a little more each day was just amazing to watch as I walked out my front door every morning.

It is definitely a different season, a lot of waiting and observing, maybe even a little too much for me to handle. My magic tree is going through a real slow process, I know I've said this more then once but it has. I was really hoping to wake up the next day to a completely different tree, wishing it just transformed overnight revealing the true magic within the tree-- sadly it did not happen. The poem by Grace Riffle described the peach tree during the summer time more then it is during the fall. So, I've decided to attempt my own version of The Old Peach Tree by Grace Riffle

Watching the peach tree,
from sunrise to sunset--
the wind that hugs my body,
as I take my first step out the door;
who knew a breeze can be so welcoming,
my only companion--
the magic tree,
I lay here reminiscing,
on the cold green grass--
the great transformation;
pink petals,
bold green leaves,
to wrinkled ombre green,
the yellow dead leaves--
surrounds my tree,
like body guards around the king,
how much longer,
till I see a change--
a beginning to something new;
O magic tree--
tell me your thoughts,
how much longer,
till the fiery leave;
Only time can tell,
Ill let mother nature do her work.
I guess it's true--
beauty takes time.

Its really not the best, just an attempt. I do plan on improving that poem in the upcoming blogs. Hopefully there will be a big change by that time.

A Start of something new or nah?

Its a new month and a new season! Hopefully this is the start of something with my Magic Tree, I'm actually pretty excited to see what happens this month, because Fall is where the leaves start to change rather quickly. From that bold green leaves to bright orange and yellow. I had some pretty good pictures but my phone got stolen so sad face to that but, here are some similar pictures of how my magic tree still looks and what it should look during this season. The first picture of the yellow leaves, is what I'm picturing my tree to look by the end of this month. Since I already noticed a few of the leaves starting to have an ombre yellow to it. As well as there being a hand full of leaves that are already yellow. The problem with those leaves that are yellow right now is, they tend to die and just fall off. Hopefully that doesn't happen to all the leaves yet, gotta have healthy yellow leaves not dead ones!

Is it worth the wait?

Source: Google Images

It's been a little over 2 weeks and I still see no significant changes in my tree. It frustrates me a little and leaves me anxious as each day passes by. Everyday as I go out to observe, I always look for something different but, I don't ever see anything. The leaves are still the same color, the branches don't look any different at all. It disappoints a little in the inside that there's nothing interesting as of right now. I try to look for the smallest things such as bugs feeding off another and even that doesn't even go on. I get jealous with other people's garden as they have something way more interesting then me. The fact that I am not a patient person makes it worse, but hey my magic tree will be an underdog for awhile. I believe nature has a way with time and beauty takes time as well.

I'm not saying that my tree isn't beautiful right now, because it is but, I'm pretty sure when nature and time does their job my magic tree will evolve into something extraordinary. Beauty takes time, for example most girls everyday; a majority of us puts make up on and do our hair, you think thats a piece of cake? Most defiantly not. A lot of girls take about 30 minutes to an hour to get ready sometimes even more. Usually in the end it pays off, when you spend a lot of time on it and not rushing it. Why? Because beauty takes time and time defines definition. This website describes time and nature very well http://users.wfu.edu/brehme/time.htm
"The universe is in a continual process of change and evolution. These changes are brought about the motion of matter, a phenomenon whose description requires the introduction of the concept of time."
I honestly, fell in love with the way the author wrote those first two sentences. This was a beautiful way of expressing time. Which brings me to my main point, something so beautiful shouldn't have to be rushed, and being patient with nature is something I will have to deal with and learn to love.

So will the wait be worth it? Defiantly, I'm looking forward to see what fall and the month of October brings to my tree. Whether it takes days, weeks or even months to see what nature has to unfold for my eyes.

I feel, I see, I smell and I hear

Wind Is Anywhere
The wind it moves in wondrous ways
Through the tree branches it blows and its sways
It takes all the leaves and flies them so high
Then briefly it lets go and they fall from the sky

Its strength is so varied from timid to strong
The length of the blowing can be short or long
Sometimes it tickles the tip of your nose
Sometimes sends shivers to the tips of your toes

It can bring some surprises with each passing day
The wind will surprise you in many a way
The sweet sound of whistling, the roar of a storm
It can bring you some happiness and also bring harm

The next time you see a bag blow down the street
The next time you feel the wind at you feet
Remember its power, its beauty and grace
For the wind can be anywhere, it can be any place.

I feel, I see, I smell and I hear the wind. The wind always seems to stand out to me every time I go out to observe. As soon as I step out of my house, the breeze is what hugs my body, it's like nature's way of greeting me. There's been a cold breeze and a warm breeze, of course all depending on the weather. It went from smelling like BBQ on a sunny day and rain the next. The wind makes my magic tree dance, it controls the movement of my tree. From moving side to side vigorously to a slight blow on the leaves . Which is why I chosed this poem, because it basically puts together what I'm trying to say about the wind.

Who knew?

"Time spent in nature, is time spent realizing that you don't know it all and that you never will."
                                               - Unknown

I saw this quote somewhere, can't really remember. But, with only a week into this project I've found this quote to be true. Before I just looked at my magic tree as a tree and now there's really more to it. The small details really do count and creates a bigger picture. As I observe my tree every day, so many questions run across my head. Who knew nature was this interesting?! There will be some things I'll find an answer to, and some that I will never really know why.
