I'm honestly really upset that i'll be leaving my tree. Its funny how you create this close bond in nature with a tree over a period of time. Just a few months ago, the tree in front of my house meant nothing to me. I'd walk passed
it each day and not notice a single thing till something significant happened. Such as, the change in the color of leaves over night, the transformation from blossoms to green leaves, from having leaves to none at all. Leaving this house won't be so hard, but leaving my magic tree will be the hardest. I don't know how to explain this feeling right now, it's like leaving a piece of me behind. Ive gotten used to going out of my house everyday and spending at least twenty to thirty minutes out there. Sitting in front of my porch, observing the Peach Tree's flaws and beauty. Looking at every aspect of the tree and admiring it. Taking the small details and finding a bigger meaning to them. Watching the green leaves dance with the small breeze during the evening, the slow change in color from green to yellow creating this elegant ombre color. Along with my favorite, when the sun is setting down, my tree just stands there, looking more peaceful then ever. As if, the sunset is where my magic tree is feeling it's self. I'm at the point, where I am able to truly say, I love my Magic Tree.
My feelings towards my tree during the project was pretty crazy. There was certainly days where, I couldn't stand my tree, no patience at all, anxiously waiting for a significant change to happen overnight or even when I come home from school. Then, we had those days where, I admire and loved every small detail of my tree, the excitement of seeing a little change happen over night, the small smiles I get in my face when more yellow leaves pop up. My mood for my project, was exactly like Reno's weather, bipolar.
Almost two months, and this was definitely an amazing experience. I feel like replacing my magic tree will be tough, kind of like a break up. Considering the fact that, I would have to choose something else to observe till the end of this project. That's hard though, I don't think I can get rid of this bond I created with my tree that easily. Let alone, love another part of nature the way I love my Magic Tree. But, I can try and give it a shot. Some of the ideas, I have in mind are, the moon, the sunset, my Mother and maybe even the pear tree in front on my new house. Hmm, tough choices!
I Came across a poem just a few seconds ago. I immediately thought about our Nature Project and how it relates to my tree.
Upon a nice mid-spring day,
Let's take a look at Nature's way,
Breathe the scent of nice fresh air,
Feel the breeze within your hair.
The grass will poke between your toes,
Smell the flowers with your nose,
Clouds form shapes within the skies,
And light will glisten from your eyes.
Hear the buzzing of the bees,
Climb the tallest willow trees,
Look across the meadow way,
And you shall see a young deer play.
Pick the daisies as they grow,
Watch a gentle cold stream flow,
Know the sounds of water splash,
Catch its glimmer in a flash.
When altogether all seems sound,
Lay yourself upon the ground,
Take a moment to inhale,
And listen to Nature tell her tale...
Let's take a look at Nature's way,
Breathe the scent of nice fresh air,
Feel the breeze within your hair.
The grass will poke between your toes,
Smell the flowers with your nose,
Clouds form shapes within the skies,
And light will glisten from your eyes.
Hear the buzzing of the bees,
Climb the tallest willow trees,
Look across the meadow way,
And you shall see a young deer play.
Pick the daisies as they grow,
Watch a gentle cold stream flow,
Know the sounds of water splash,
Catch its glimmer in a flash.
When altogether all seems sound,
Lay yourself upon the ground,
Take a moment to inhale,
And listen to Nature tell her tale...

Family Friend Poems
The author is writing about her day of experience with Nature. She's very detailed about her writing and descriptions. The author takes every little detail around her and explains it well. Just like our class, we are focusing and observing on the nature piece that we have chosen and taking a closer look at it as each day goes by. We don't just look, but we observe as in going into depth with a specific piece and researching it and finding the answers to our questions if we can. "Take a moment to inhale, And listen to Nature tell her tale" , that right there just sounds so beautiful to me, it was a very beautiful line. Read it again, listen to nature tell her tale; Nature has so much more then just plants and flowers, so just take a moment out of your day and experience what nature has to offer.
Tomorrow morning I will be uploading some of the last photos of my Magic Tree. Because, my camera/phone isn't working with me today and keeps shutting down every time I try and take a picture. Great, right? So hopefully, leaving it off the whole night will change that. So please, stay put and the last pictures of my Magic Tree will be posted up ASAP.

ahh. This is so sad. I think there are places that can make us feel safe, feel at home. It may sound silly but this summer we had our big tree pruned and I had to leave the house because I was so worried that they would destroy my tree.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. Your post was very beautiful and heartfelt. I hope you find something else to observe that can at least catch your interest as much as your Magic Tree did, even though it may never be able to replace it.
ReplyDeleteI like how you describe the tree and how beautiful the tree is. Also liked how you come to realize that you love your tree. Great post!
ReplyDeleteAww I'm so sorry! Leaving your tree seems like not talking to your best friend, and that's awful. I think it's very insightful that you feel this way. The bond you have with nature is amazing and if we all had this bond then maybe mother nature would be happy. You'll find a new tree, I promise!
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty awesome how you could actually grow a connection between a tree. I'm so sorry you're leaving your tree, sounds as if it really meant something to you.
